Facebook • 2016 Year In Review

Facebook • Sport • TV

Directed by Gus Van Sant • Music by The Pixies • Friendships play such a big part in our love for Sport. Having friends to celebrate with, or sympathize with, or even argue about players are what makes playing sports and being a fan so much fun. Sports give us common ground that allows friendships to form and deepen.

Facebook Just Made Some of the Truest Ads Ever About Friendship
— Tim Nudd, Adweek

It's easy for people to associate Facebook with many things -- some good, some bad -- but above all friendship is the foundation of everything we do as a brand. Friends are so integral a part of our lives that it's easy to take them for granted. These spots seek to remind people how important friendship is, as well as help them realize that those friendships are what make Facebook meaningful and worthwhile.

Facebook • Just in Case Studies • Web Series

The Just in Case Series teaches people a little something about how to use Facebook better and enjoy it more, because the better you know how to use Facebook, the more you like it. But learning isn’t always fun.  So we made short narrative videos where the “how-to” is part of the story.

Demos are familiar. But these less formal stories got people watching. The 12 films have gotten over 100 million views with topics like, “how do I block my ex-boyfriend?” or, “why is there a dinosaur floating around downtown?”

The series has also opened a dialogue between Facebook and users. Viewers use the comments sections of these videos to ask other Facebook-related questions, and Facebook Community Managers are able to help provide support. But most importantly of all, these videos were fun to watch.

Facebook, at long last, finally seems to be getting the hang of the whole advertising thing.

Facebook • Introducing Reactions

Not every moment you want to share is happy. Sometimes you want to share something sad or frustrating. Our community has been asking for a dislike button for years, but not because people want to tell friends they don't like their posts. People wanted to express empathy and make it comfortable to share a wider range of emotions.

Nike • Play In The Now • TV

Most golfers find something that works and they stick with it. Even the best player in the world. But rejecting better equipment simply because it’s new is dumb. It always has been and it always will be. Initial concept with writer, Brock Kirby.

Audi • Green Police • TV

Super Bowl XLIV • Directed by Bryan Buckley • Music by Cheap Trick • How do you talk about the green car of the year in a time where everyone is feeling bombarded by the green movement? What if we changed the conversation about being green to one that rings true? Because if there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s that being green can be complicated.

New Amsterdam Vodka • It's Your Town Campaign

Going Out Is Your Civic Duty • Directed by Nima Noruizadeh Music by Crown and The M.O.B.

Google • Nexus S Launch • Pure Google Campaign

Before there was Pixel, there was Nexus S. After the failure of the first Nexus, Google said they would never make another phone. And then they did. A phone free of carrier malware and third party apps that tripped up basic functionality. We focused our campaign on the most amazing feature of the phone, the freedom of a 'Pure Google' experience.

Audi • Friendly Competition • TV

Audi at the Olympics • Directed by Lance Acord • A 30 second commercial for Audi that embraces the little bouts of competition we take part in everyday. The spot originally aired during the Olympics.
